A great overview of today’s agent and who they are . . . what they want, how they work. The video says it all.

    Amy,

With all do respect, I do not think this video says it all! Now, I’m one of Chris’ biggest fans and an Inman Premium member, but these stats don’t jive.

Personally, I would like to see the 1099s to back up these numbers, especially the percentage of sales associates that grossed $100,000 by spending less than 15 hours/month in the office.

Our Top Producers spend 15 hours weekly, if not more, in the office.

    Where’s the conversation?

    Thank you,

    Jim

  2. Jim – I shot the video and I hear your point. I don;t work for Inman but remember…these were the resultys based on the survey answers. These would be “tech saavy agents” who took the time to fill out the survey, not all agents. I think that is why the answers are so “tech heavy.” For instance, 81% of all agents utlize video? Not in my market.

I do think the presentation and research does point out one thing very clearly – if broker/owners aren’t wrapping their hands around technology, social media and better training of such, they will be quickly “unfriended” and “unfollowed” by their associates.

    Sean,

Thanks for your comments. I believe, more than ever, it illustrates just how “local” real estate is. In our market, tech savvy brokers, like myself, can’t understand why our agent base is so late to the game?

For me, I think it just illustrates how important it is to understand your agent’s motivation and priorities. I need to reassess what I know about my agents and what I can do to make them less likely to want to move.
