Just got back from the NAR Convention in New Orleans. I must say that I ate very well – every meal was better than the last! Lots of great get-togethers, (shout out to the Aussies for their party on Bourbon Street) fantastic education and some new finds at the trade show.
First of all I am honored to tell you that our launch of the NEW ePro course and train the trainer was received with rave reviews. The new ePro® is a one day live in the classroom and one day online. The cost is just $249 and there is no yearly fee. There will be an ongoing forum, community, and webinars to keep the content current. It is now under the REBAC umbrella and an elective for ABR. Contact me if you would like to schedule a course in your area.
NAR released the second of the series of 3 books that I just wrote for them. Social Media for REALTORS® Blogging! I sat at their booth and signed copies of the book for REALTORS®. That was very humbling! You can purchase them online at Realtor.org.
QR codes were hot. I ran into my friend Seth Kaplan from Mobile Real Estate ID. He offers an amazing package for Text Messaging Short Codes and the ability to create QR codes for your business. For only $100 a year you have access to two shortcodes to use for your listings. Check it out at http://www.mobilerealestateid.com.

I visited Derek Overby at the Roost.com booth. They have a FREE facebook business page app that they call their “marketing dashboard.” If you wanted to brand your business page and give the consumer tools they want and need check out their new product. Visit http://www.roost.com/ and click on “FREE TOOLKIT.”
I had been meaning to check out WiseAgent in my quest to find a contact management system that makes sense. They are giving people a free 30 day trial of what looks like to me an easy to use product to keep yourself organized. Although I love Outlook I think combining email with contact management can be overwhelming. Plus Outlook doesn’t have everything we need. What they had which I liked was actions plans to attach to prospects. If you like to work your sphere, they make that extremely easy as well.
Last but not least – I fell in love with my Kodak Zi8 camera after speaking to the people at the Kodak booth. They gave me some great tips on using it more effectively. They mentioned a video that is on Youtube that shows you how you can add a microphone to the camera. The Zi8 has sound in, which I think is important especially if you are editing your videos. Here is the video! http://www.youtube.com
Amy, great to see you and thanks for coming to our Aussie party. I’m back home late this week and somehow ill catch up for a chat early next week. Thanks for these tips.
