Finally, video finished. Here is video one. This has been a wonderful learning experience, working with video. I always work with and experience the tools that I speak about in the my classes. I must say I am becomming a video blogging fool. Ther is something magical when you have a video camera in your hands, or at least a mic. A little bit of a learning curve, but I think with a little practice many of us could start using video to market ourselves and our properties.

?

TriplePlay - the real estate gathering for New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania at Atlantic City every year. A great place to learn, network and have fun.

Starts Dec 3 and goes through Dec 6th this year. I will be speaking there again this year - always a hoot - if you have not been in a class with people from these three states (okay Connecticut and Delaware, you are there too) you are missing out! Always interactive, lively and just a blast.

I will be roaming the halls on Wednesday morning - I teach all day Tuesday - doing some video blogging. I want to discuss the power of social networks like Active Rain. if you will be there please contact me so?I can interview you. It will be fun! I will send you the footage after we are done so you can post yourself on your own blog. I look forward to hearing from you.

?See you in Atlantic City!

Email is out of control. I have been doing a simple email review in class and students seem to enjoy it. I present it here for your review!

You represent yourself and your company in your e-mail correspondence.

1.  Get to the Point.
Be concise in your e-mail message. Your recipients may have hundreds of e-mails to read.

2. Business Writing still works.

Punctuation. One exclamation point is just as effective as five in a sentence. And the fewer used in the overall message the better. They're distracting.

Abbreviations. Many abbreviations have more than one meaning. (LOL for example).  Stick to common abbreviations, such as ASAP. Avoid Emoticons or overuse of them.

3. Change the subject line  If you have many emails going back and forth and the subject changes in the body, CHANGE it in the subject line. If you want to review later it is easier to find subject lines then content. Eek! This is a big one.

4. Alwysa cheek yoru speeling.
Spelling errors not only look unprofessional, they draw attention to the misspelled word instead of the message in your e-mail. If you have spell check, use it.

 5. Reread before sending   One person's comments may be another's ground for a lawsuit-or at least a nasty response. Something that you say in person may come across differently when written.

6. Always use your Signature
Sometimes it's difficult for the e-mail recipient to figure out from whom an e-mail originated. So always add your "signature" (your name, company name, e-mail address, and phone numbers) to all your e-mail. You will be in compliance with the Can-Spam Law.

7. Spam   No one likes to receive unsolicit e e-mail selling products or services. If you solicit business without first getting the recipient's permission to send them e-mail, you violate spam rules.
